Richmond Royal Horse Show Short Version Of Story - Pearly Kings Parade (1920)

Richmond, London. Intertitle: “RICHMOND ROYAL HORSE SHOW. ’All society’ - east and west - the lordly four-in-hand the ’Pearly King and his moke’ - at the famous Show“. M/S of a horse and carriage race - teams of four well-groomed horses pull carriages around a large open air stadium, the footmen and riders wear top hats. Various shots of a procession of donkeys pulling carts with Pearly kings and queens in. M/S of a group of judges walking between the carts and donkeys giving out prizes. Intertitle: “Queen Amelie, King Manoel and Queen Augusta admire the handsome prizes“. Various shots of a gentleman in a top hat and two women lavishly wrapped in furs admiring a table of trophies. Note: King Manoel is probably more widely known as King Manuel II of Portugal. AH 2000.
