Happy 40th Anniversary Rainbow fans! I haven’t uploaded this concert before, so this is new. Here is Rainbow performing their very first live concert in Japan. This was live at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium (. Tokyo Taiikukan in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan around 6pm on Thursday December 2nd, 1976. This recording comes from a bootleg entitled “Legend of the Additional Performance.“ A Note about the recording: This is an overall Mr. Peach recording, and his very first attempt to record Rainbow live. There are some parts from 3 songs that his recording was missing from this show so Tarantura filled in the missing sections with Aquarius’ recordings to make up the gaps. Mr. Peach’s recording dominates Aquarius’ recordings in terms of sound quality. I am not sure if Mr. Peach’s tape recorder was giving him issues this night or because this was his first attempt to record a Rainbow concert.
