In 1982 Robert (’King Crimson’) Fripp joined The Damned in the studio during the recordings for their ’Strawberries’ album for Bronze Records. However, the one track they recorded together, ’Fun Factory’, did not appear on the album and, in fact, did not receive any official release until it was put out on the Deltic label in 1990. But Robert did join the band on stage for a few songs on Monday 11th October 1982 at the Hammersmith Odeon. They played MC5’s ’Looking At You’, the ’Chan Romero’/’Swinging Blue Jeans’ song ’Hippy Hippy Shake’ and The Rolling Stones’ song ’Citadel’. He also joined them on the last song of the night; their own classic ’New Rose’. The recording is a bootleg with pretty poor sound. But here it is just for the record.
