This video essay is an analysis of Wong Kar Wai’s use of colors. WKW is without doubt, one of cinema’s great colorists. His films are renowned for their distinctive style, in which colors segue and blur into each other.
Color in films are a product of collaboration between the director and his cinematographer, in this case: Christopher Doyle. Color is one of the most powerful factors in someone’s psychological build.
This video was made for the purpose of paying tribute to one of the greatest filmmakers.
