To me the central focus of Siege should always be around the defuser but sadly it’s not, team deathmatch has taken over the meta and more often than not the defuser is completely ignored by both teams. There’s still an advantage to playing the objective but it requires extra steps compared to simply running and gunning. The advantage defuser plays provide is just not enough to justify the extra steps and effort necessary to get there when players can reasonably win by just running and gunning; so it’s no surprise that most players take that path. I hope Ubisoft addresses this because the game is losing it’s core principles.
