On October 11, 1994, 5 outcasts from Bakersfield, California released one of the most important albums of the 20th century. Their self-titled debut record which was released via independent Los Angeles label Immortal, would come to be seen by many as the birth of Nu-Metal. Korn would be considered as the pioneers of a genre that dominated tv screens and radio waves for over a decade. A genre that would also give birth to bands such as Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach and Deftones. From high school drop-outs to born-again Christians, Korn have become an iconic influence in the world of Heavy Metal and this is their story. Jonathan Davis was born January 18, 1971, in Bakersfield, California. And his childhood would be that of any typically neglected one.
