The player with the ball dribbles through the cones in front of him and passes to an other player, who is positioned behind the marked cone gate 2. The receiving player goes towards the ball and takes the first touch in direction to the cone square on the left or on the right side 3. From the square the player passes the ball to the first player at the other side 4. The players follow their pass and get ready for the following action Organisation: 1. What do you need to build up? 14 cones (if possible 3 different colours - 6,4,4 cones) 20x20m space 2. Mark two goals with approx. 15 to 20m apart from each other 3. Between these two, a horizontal cone gate is to be marked (3m) 4. On the left- and right-hand side with an approx. distance of 5m two different colored cone rectangles are to be placed 5. More than one pitch can be built Coaching Points: 1. Awareness / Orientation - Before receiving the ball check over your shoulder to see where the space, opponents and your teammates are on the field 2. Direction of first touch - Keep the ball moving, ball should always be in motion, first touch in direction of next action, away from opponent or into space 3. Follow-up action – Next action possible after first contact with the ball (ball must be on the right foot, not bouncing if possible, and easy to use) 4. Body position when receiving the ball - Position body to take first touch in direction of your choice (forward, backward, side 5. Disguise - Deceiving opponent using your body, changes of speed and direction before or on the moment you control the ball Variations: 1. Easier - Decrease passing distance (focus on first touch) 2. Rule - Coach is giving the instruction where to go (left or right) 3. Harder - Increase passing distance and speed (focus is still on first touch) 4. Harder - Players have to communicate to each other, player who passes the ball is giving the instruction for the receiving player (left or right)
