Remember Remember the 5th of November - Guy Fawkes Fireworks Night Poem

Remember, Remember The 5th of November is a popular traditional Nursery Rhyme in the United Kingdom. The rhyme is about the Gunpowder Plot which took place on the 5th November in 1605. When Guy Fawkes and his co conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses Of Parliament, their aim being to assassinate King James I. The plot failed when Guy Fawkes was caught guarding the barrels of gunpowder in the cellars of the House of Lords and arrested. The UK has an annual commemoration on the 5th Nov called Guy Fawkes Night, Bonfire Night or Fireworks Night. On this night Fireworks are set off and effigies of Guy Fawkes are burned on top of bonfires. In some places in the UK the effigies of Guy Fawkes are now replaced with effigies of celebrities or politicians. Guy Fawkes himself has become a popular character referenced in books and film. Including the Harry Potter series, in which Dumbledore has a phoenix called Fawkes which is named after Guy Fawkes. There are many different versions of this poem.
