Erdogan: Putin ’wants the humanitarian bridge to continue’ as Moscow pulls out Black Sea grain deal

Russia on Monday pulled out of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, a UN-brokered accord that has made it possible for Ukraine to export tens of millions of tons of grains and oilseeds over the past year. European officials denounced Moscow’s decision. Turkish President Erdogan said the country’s foreign minister would speak with his Russian counterpart Monday. Germany appealed to Russia after it halted the deal. The Black Sea grain initiative, which was first brokered by the UN and Turkey a year ago was last renewed on May 17 for two months.
