Imola has been good to Lando Norris these past two years: In 2021, he scored P3 after a rainy race, a feat which he repeated this season, aided by his team scoring the DHL Fastest Pit Stop of the race! The outfit from Woking has seemingly recovered from their nightmarish season opener in Bahrain. Norris had been demonstrating good pace all weekend, but ultimately benefitted the most off Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc spinning off track while in pursuit of P3. Not only did Leclerc’s mistake help the Briton climb the podium, his mechanics also did their part by quickly changing the tires on his MCL36 and subsequently scoring the DHL Fastest Pit Stop with seconds on lap 19. Norris was the last one to change tires as the first pit window opened, sitting pretty as the McLaren mechanics swapped his race worn Inters for Medium slicks and sending him back out behind Sergio Perez.
