The Towering Inferno (1974) Steve McQueen, William Holden, disaster, panic, nasty deaths, rescue attempts (ENG SUBS)

The premiere party for the world’s tallest skyscraper catches fire due to poor wiring due to corruption. A determined fire chief named O’Hallorhan (Steve McQueen) and a architect fight the fire from the outside and the inside respectively. Meanwhile, the fire engulfs floor by floor of the skyscraper, while the owner of the building James Duncan (William Holden) struggles to find safety for the trapped party at the 120th floor. Guess he thinks he is a bigwig or some shit because he is vain, stupid and self important. After a minute with O’Hallorhan and he doesnt feel so cocky. O’Hallorhan doesnt make a deal of it, he is after all out to save lives. A real disaster classic film but you can easily skip the first 40 minutes because who wants to here rich women yapping about their first world problems? Things starts to get very serious towards the end when some important looking men from the navy wants to talk to O’Hallorhan and how to stop the out of control fire is “this and that“, even if most will die. Meanwhile the fire is about to reach floor 120th and kill em all. PS On this hellish night predatatorian greed, corruption, megalomaniac capitalism, embezzlers and other shit scum will NOT be victorious! They will ALL die! Dedicated to firefighters around the world. And what an ending! As downbeat and realistic as possible, NO flag waving maniacs here shouting USA, USA, USA!
