Low Light photography / enhancing portraits with a portable flash

I have always waited until blue light to shoot - often this happens when it’s just myself shooting and I have about a 5 minute window (here in Australia) to shoot before the evening sky turns to black. So experimenting with an off camera flash gave me a good amount more time to shoot and actually many more light addition ideas!
