Sounds Donnie interviewing The Cure (1981)

Donnie Sutherland on Sounds and After Dark: Donnie talking to Robert Smith, Lol Tolhurst and Simon Gallup of The Cure. This interview was taken during The Cure’s second tour of Australia in 1981. At 2:12 Robert Smith’s call for a support band with a female leadsinger and a drum machine would be answered by the Sydney-based Newcastle band Pel Mel. Sounds/Sound Unlimited first introduced the Australian public to The Cure when the show played their music video to ’’10:15 Saturday Night’’ back in 1978. Unfortunately, the first few seconds of this interview wasn’t recorded in time.
