Tarot de Paris

Tarot de Paris is available to order at For more information on me:mo visit Produced and hosted by Lukas Henning Animation by Kajetan Obarski Four players are gathered around a table. Illuminated by waning candlelight: books, a lute, a dagger, wine in a chalice, gold and silver coins, and scattered between them the twenty-two triomphes of the tarot, as it was printed in Paris around 1620. The contemporaries Nicolas Vallet, Michelagnolo Galilei, Hieronymus Kapsperger and John Dowland likely never met in person, though their respective fates and careers are found reflected in the fatalistic program of these cards – a sort of alphabet for humanist symbolism, with a piece of music assigned to each motive. A musical dimension in between these four Europe-spanning biographies emerges.
