The Antechinus (also known as the Marsupial Mouse) has 15 species and of these, 14 including these Yellow-footed ones, all the males will die in a suicidal mating ritual before their first birthday. This is known as, Big Bang Reproduction. A once-in- a-lifetime mating ritual.
Breeding: Breeding occurs in winter (usually August–September) at a time when little food is available in the environment. Mating takes place over 2 to 3 weeks in which time
