Wrestling Bios Presents - The Career of The Bushwhackers You may know them as The Kiwis, you may know them as The Sheepherders, or you may know them as The Bushwhackers. Once upon a time, Butch and Luke were one of the most feared tag teams in all of professional wrestling. When Butch and Luke made their way to the WWF, they were repackaged as a comedy act, something that a lot of fans believe was a mistake. Butch Miller and Luke Williams’ Hall of Fame career began all the way back in the 60s where the duo, then known as The Kiwis, wrestled for NWA New Zealand. It didn’t take long for the tag team to begin travelling to Japan and North America to find work outside of their home country. When Butch and Luke became The Sheepherders, their reputation as one of the most feared and brutal tag teams only got bigger. Through changes within The Sheepherder’s tag team and a reunion of Luke and Butch in the early 80s, the team eventually found their way to Vince McMahon’s WWF. Now wrestling as The Bushwhackers, Butch and Luke’s gimmicks were totally changed and the Bushwhackers became fan favourites. During their time in the WWF, The Bushwhackers had matches with the likes of Money Inc, The Nasty Boys, The Natural Disasters, The Heavenly Bodies and more.
