DJI Pocket 2 4K Cinematic

DJI Pocket 2 4K Cinematic This is the DJI OSMO Pocket 2 4K video test. 2 years ago I picked up the first gen. And it was really fun to use. And this second gen is even better. There are lots of improvements over the first gen. First, the pocket 2 has a much wider lens. From 28mm previous model to now 20mm f/1.8. Heaps better for vlogging. And what’s even better is, you can get the DJI 15mm wide angle lens adapter to make it wider field of view. And that slightly bigger sensor is more than welcome too. Also I like that they have included the joystick this time. The last gen you have to buy the wheel separately, and you could only do up and down, then click another switch to go left and right. Joystick is so much easier. Would you use the Pocket 2 over the smartphone? It’s kinda yes and no at the same time. The pocket 2 has a real 3 Axis gimbal. Meaning you get much stable shots than a smartphone. And also the Pocket 2 has better overall image. You get more natural sort of look, when the smartphone like iPhone. The auto HDR thing makes your image look very un-natural. Also the iPhone wide angle lens is wider. But it’s really soft compared with the Pocket. I would rather go for little bit tighter than super soft image. NOTE: There were two big issues that I found during this test. First, when I put on the ND filter during the bright sunlight. The camera was hunting heaps to find focus. Not sure because the shutter speed was lower after I had the ND or not. So a lot of my footage was out of focus. And second, the camera keeps thinking my ND filter was their DJI wide angle. So the camera keeps popping up the message “Wide Angle lens” attached, or 2 seconds later “Wide Angle lens” removed. That message was pretty annoying. Cos I think the camera was trying to re-focus when there is a wide angle lens. Pros and Cons (Personal opinion) Pros - 20mm wide angle lens - f/1.8 aperture - 4x mics - Comes with joystick and button 1/4 screw for tripod Cons - When using ND filter, the camera seems to have a hard time on focusing - Not sure why DJI went for 64MP sensor, you get noisy footage even at ISO 800 - When shooting 4K 60p, it doesn’t let you choose high quality option Thanks for watching ^.^, Please subscribe for more videos like this Follow me on instagram to see more behind the scenes and product shots.
