A Pastime For Eve - Novelty Dolls (1933)

“Take a little wire, some crepe paper and paint. Add a little ingenuity, and Eve has one of these grotesquely fascinating dolls, so popular nowadays.“ C/U of a woman cutting a piece of crepe paper. She unfolds the paper and rolls it around some wire. She then winds paper around two pieces of wire to make a body. She squeezes some paper into a ball then wraps it in paper. A face is painted on. The head is attached to the body. “Even dolls must have a skirt, though, in this case, it’s crepe paper.“ C/U of the skirt being cut out. The fluted edges are folded around a wire. The skirt is then attached to the doll. The doll has a hat and cuffs attached then a piece of mistletoe. The doll is then posed on the back of a chair.
