Martian Landscape - UFO (1976)

“Martian Landscape“ was released in the spring of 1976 on UFO’s fifth studio album, No Heavy Petting. No Heavy Petting is my favorite UFO album and this is the second video (after “Belladonna“ ) that I’ve made for a track from it. I used a 192KHz/24 bit vinyl rip as the audio just sounded so much better than any of the other versions I had. No Heavy Petting was the first UFO album to feature a full-time keyboard player as a member of the band, making this their first record as a five-piece band. Though he only stayed for this one album, I really like the keyboard sound Danny Peyronel brought to this he co-wrote this strange, beautiful song. Of course he was replaced by Paul Raymond on keyboards for the next one of my all-time greats! So, I’m kinda, sorta back! Thanks to all the good people/fans of the channel who have been asking about what’s going on with no new videos lately. This is maybe the longest (over 4 months!) that I’ve ever not uploaded a video in the 10 years I’ve had the channel. Several factors had brought me to upload my last video (Yes’ “Onward“) as a good place to park the channel for awhile. COVID caused me to be busier than I’ve ever been before in my life at my real the channel views are throttled to the point where it’s hard to avoid thinking “what’s the point“ with taking the time and effort to make new videos. That being said, I’m sincerely appreciative of the old friends who have offered me their words of support and encouragement to maybe crank out some new things. For all my one’s for you! ;-) Please share, like and comment to help this vid find it’s way into the rankings. Thanks and best to all! [Lyrics] I come from the land where the wheat is still wheat Where the water in the rivers is still water In this land, every man lends a hand when you need it But your hands are full of life, so you can help yourself and feel it It’s been a long way from the red of my home From the valleys and the green plains never ending Everyone knows that the sun in his land is stronger And your hands are full of life, if you can only wait just longer So let it be a small haven, big in your heart Don’t let it turn into a nova, tryin’ to climb and climb Try and forget this place where I can still find time To sing in rhyme Martian landscape, I’ll learn to lie in your arms Where all the freedom is mine and it comes Martian landscape, I’ll turn my face to your sun Where your horizon is mine and it comes I come from the land where the wheat is still wheat Where the water in the rivers is still water In this land, every man lends a hand when you need it But your hands are full of life, so you can help yourself and feel it So let it be a small haven, big in my heart Don’t let it turn into a nova, tryin’ to climb and climb Try and forget this place where I can still find time To sing in rhyme Martian landscape, I’ll want to lie in your arms Where all the freedom is mine and it comes Martian landscape, I’ll turn my face to your sun Where your horizon is mine and it comes Martian landscape, Martian landscape Martian landscape, Martian landscape
