A piece of art was created that signals that one day, True AI, will be possible. Jason Allen, an art director for video games used AI tool Midjourney to create art. He entered three pieces into the Colorado State Fair annual fine art competition. His piece called Théâtre D’opéra Spatial won! Allen said he entered because he wanted to make a statement - which he certainly did. There has been a huge backlash and it has ignited a debate on AI created art. But does the fact that an AI was able to create, with Allen’s prompting, beautiful art tell us anything about the development of True AI?
