Advancing with Watercolor: Color Strategies “Autumn’s Glow”

This short video builds on a previous video that demonstrates different ways to mix colors in watercolor. The techniques of that exercise are applied to creating an image. In addition color stratagies are presented for the developing artist to consider in the analysis of the subject and color structure of the painting. A limited palette, mixing colors directly on the paper, and creating a glow through layering compliments are demonstrated in this video This video was created to supplement my course on watercolor in Boston. Just as the musician practices scales to warm up we can practice our “color” scales as well. I used 4 colors for this painting ....
