Nagano, JAPAN - 1998 Winter Games, Ice Dancing, Free Dance - Shae Lynn Bourne and Victor Kraatz of Canada placed 3rd in the Free Dance over France’s Anissina & Peizerat as Yuri Balkov, the judge from Ukraine, broke ranks with those involved in the block judging (judges from Russia, Italy, Czech Republic and France). Balkov knew that it didn’t matter if Bourne & Kraatz placed 3rd or 4th in the Free Dance, as the final results would not have been altered, and those results being Bourne & Kraatz finishing in 4th Place overall.
