Women in uniform (probably WACs / Women’s Army Corps) salute Mayor La Guardia and other officials on a platform. They are followed by Red Cross Nurses and women involved in war production work. Nice shots of women in civvies marching along wearing armbands (some also wear tin hats - ARP wardens?). In Canada we see hundreds of men of the Canadian Home Guard standing on a parade ground and listening to a speech by Brigadier Armstrong. Natural sound as he talks of the role they will be playing in the defence of Canada. In the United States of America, we see various shots of Commandos being put through their paces as they endure an obstacle course.
