Blender 2.6: uv unwrapping and texture painting

In this 19 minute video I use ’uv unwrapping’ to transform the 3D surface of Suzanne’s head into a 2D (’uv’) surface. This unwrapped 2D image could be exported to a specialized graphics application such as Photoshop or the GIMP, worked on there and imported back into Blender, but instead I do the painting in Blender itself.
