The Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest in Japan) series helped to establish a huge amount of JRPG tropes, but they also distinguished themselves with wonderful soundtracks provided by Koichi Sugiyama. This overworld theme is a timeless and impressive example of 3-part modal writing. All parts use patch 21 of the onboard patches of the Akai EWI 4000s, with equalisation and reverb added in Audacity.
