It’s mega discount Clock Tower. Clock Tower at Home. Dollar store Clock Tower - my initial name for the video before I realized someone else already used it. There is quality talent behind the scenes here. The director of the first two clock towers returns, along with other notable names in the industry. But as we’ve seen in many crowdfunded titles, that’s no guarantee for success. Nightcry is a great example. To be fair, there are moments where you can see something descent buried amongst the bizarre and nonsensical of Nightcry. They were working with a shoestring budget and timeframe. But that is far and few between. The end result is a tossed-together spiritual successor with much to offer, and not in a good way. There are several puzzling, bizarre design decisions throughout NIghtcry. Plot threads dropped on a whim. It’s not quite a “so bad it’s good“ kind of game - although it does flirt with that at times. But I can’t recall the last time a game made me feel so gobsmacked while playing. Let’s take a look at why.
