This Is India’s Oldest Pride Parade | Kolkata Celebrates 24th Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walk

India’s first-ever Pride Parade was held in Kolkata on 2nd July 1999, called the Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walk, and was also the oldest Pride march in South Asia. Despite participation from other cities like Mumbai & Bangalore, the walk had only about 15 participants in total. This year saw a huge turnout of parents marching in support of their queer children as Kolkata celebrated the 24th edition of South Asia’s oldest pride walk.
