Part I - Headdress Beading - DIY Native American Headdress / War Bonnet

Some of my viewers asked for the full tutorial video of my Native American Headdress. So, here it is. You can see the whole playlist of five videos here : When I was a kid, I had a great admiration for Native Americans and their craft I discovered in movies the french TV broadcasted every sunday night. This build was a challenge for me. I wanted to learn how to make a headdress, overcome all the difficulties and most importantly pay a tribute to the traditions and craft of the Native Americans I admired as a child. I know the importance of the headdress for Indians and the honor it is to have one or wear one, so please don’t see in this video any disrespect for the culture or traditions of Native Americans, as I only mean to show respect and admiration for their craft. As it is for me the most difficult part, I started with the beading. I first drawn my pattern. As you will see in the video, I draw two patterns and chose the one I liked the most. Then I used a beadloom for the thread I made myself. Nothing facing, just plywood cut, glued and screwed together. Once the beadloom was threaded, I began the beading. It’s a long and slow process, but I enjoyed it and I’m really happy how it turned out. Hope you like the video. Stay tuned for Part II :) You can now support my work and videos on Patreon.
