All the Songs from the 2004 MuchMusic Countdown

This is a rundown of every hit song present on the MuchMusic Countdown in 2004. Let’s bring some Canadiana to nostalgia playlists! These have been my pet projects for a while because I’m a bit obsessed with old-school MuchMusic/can-con in general. 2004 is regarded as one of the best years for pop music of this century. Green Day released American Idiot. Usher released Confessions. Kanye West released The College Dropout. Britney’s last stand before her lost years. Outkast was the biggest act around. Eminem and D12 embraced comedy rap. And two words: MR. BRIGHTSIDE. Meanwhile in Canada Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, The Trews and Keshia Chante broke out, plus you’ll see some bands like Pilate and Projet Orange that didn’t last but you’ll remember the tunes. There’s a bit of everything in this one, and tons of songs big enough that they went to #1. Presented for archival and reporting purposes under fair dealing/fair use. I am not associated with Much, Bell Media or any record label/media company. Countdown information for this year was found at
