China NOW! Huge hail and storm! There’s chaos on the streets

For the first time in China’s history, such a large number of dangerous weather events are occurring simultaneously. The city of Fuzhou in Jiangxi province was hit by a convective storm. On the morning of April 16, the sky suddenly darkened, turning day into night, and the city was struck by a thunderstorm with heavy rain and gusty winds. The storm caused destruction and chaos on the streets, with trees uprooted everywhere, roads strewn with broken branches and leaves. Wind gusts reached 35.9 m/s, comparable to a landfalling typhoon, setting a new record for the region. Later that day, a tornado swept through Huaijian County, Shuozhou District, Shanxi Province, fortunately lasting only a few minutes and causing minimal damage. In the evening of April 16, intense convective weather in Huancun County, Guangxi Province, brought hail accompanied by brief thunderstorms, strong winds, and heavy rain. Hail fell for an hour, causing significant damage to homes, farmland, and vehicles. Guangxi Province experienced thunderstorms with torrential rains, accompanied by a vast number of lightning strikes. Over 126,000 flashes occurred in the region from April 17 to 18, with lightning strikes reported across the province. Nan’ning County alone saw over 20,000 lightning strikes during a severe convective storm. The Shanlin National Meteorological Station recorded a wind gust of 30.3 m/s, surpassing the station’s historical extreme value. On April 18, large hail fell in 39 counties of Guizhou Province, some pieces the size of chicken eggs. In Bizhou District, hailstones reached a maximum diameter of 7 centimeters, puncturing roofs of some cars and damaging crops. Anomalously heavy rains accompanied by the convective storm brought torrential flooding to residents of Guizhou Province. The maximum rainfall reached inches in the Pinba area, with strong winds reaching a maximum speed of 32.5 meters per second in Ciyansi City. On April 19, Guangdong Province experienced heavy rains, with local downpours in Qingyuan District. A rare and eerie phenomenon known as “green sky“ appeared in the sky, turning black and making day seem like night. A level 4 emergency response was initiated to combat flooding. Due to heavy rains, shipping on the Dongjiang River was suspended, with vessels prohibited from leaving the port. The Central Meteorological Observatory forecasts worsening weather conditions over the next three days. To ensure safety, rail traffic will be suspended for 165 trains. Scientists predict that life in China will become nearly impossible in the coming years, with only two small habitable zones remaining in the country, accommodating a limited number of people.
