A composition for my grandfather, Winslow Thambiah Ivers (WTI) Alagaratnam who was killed by the Tamil Tigers in his own family in 1977. As Director of Irrigation in Sri Lanka he gained the nickname Walk to Infinity for his habit of getting up early and walking for mile after mile inspecting the renovation of the ancient irrigation tanks in the north of Sri Lanka.
