King Amanullah (1928)

Full titles read: “King Amanullah - of Afghanistan and his beautiful Queen pay state visit to France.“ Paris, France. L/S at a railway station (in Paris?) as King Amanullah and his Queen are escorted from a train by a group of dignitaries. The group stands at the foot of the stairs for a while as if posing for the camera (or perhaps an anthem is being played out of shot!). L/Ss of the King and Queen in a car driving through Paris, surrounded by military men in full regalia on horseback. Intertitle reads: “At the Unknown Warrior’s Grave.“ M/S of the King laying a huge wreath on the grave; he is assisted by some of the men in the entourage. The Queen appears to be there, in mourning dress. Intertitle reads: “At the Palace of Versailles.“ Various shots as a large group accompanies the King and Queen as they walk about the grounds. L/S of the Royal couple appearing on the balcony of the Palace with French dignitaries. A flag flies from the balcony - probably the pre-1929 Afghanistan flag. FILM
