With lyrics taken straight from the Bible (Psalm 37:7, 42:1, 46:10 and Isaiah 7:4) this has become one of my favorite songs I’ve ever recorded. The beauty of strings coupled with their intensity remind me of the struggle that often exists when attempting to trust God with all the things we’d rather control ourselves. Even as I type these words, the world outside my home is covered under a think blanket of snow. The schools in Middle Tennessee ground to a halt, most of Nashville did, with roads more treacherous than we’re used to navigating. We’ve been FORCED to stop and to rest. To depend on the provisions we have. To realize that even without school, appointments, sports, rehearsals and quick trips to the grocery world keeps on spinning. No one wants to be forced to rest, but thankfully, our God has INVITED us into His rest.
