Running to the Edge of the World (Alternate Version) -Marilyn Manson

The audio is from the alternate version of Running to the Edge of the World and is laid over the official video for the album version. For some reason, The High End of Low used weak versions of the songs even though there were better versions lying around. The alternate takes are nuanced and powerful, whereas the album versions are impotent and overproduced. The alternate version of RTTEOTW conveys vulnerability with minimal instrumentation: guitar, strings and voice. The chorus is that much more powerful because it doesn’t hit us over the head with noise to tell us we should be feeling something.
