Fun Kinetic Typography Animation | After Effects Tutorial

In this tutorial I show you how to make fun kinetic type animations. The example I use is pretty intricate, so this isn’t a step by step recreation. Rather a breakdown of certain processes I think are helpful when creating this kind of work. If you want to see how any particular part of the animation was done in depth, you can view the entire workflow on my sister channel The Video Shop long play. I’ve chaptered each video so it’s easy to find a particular element. I’ve already covered the process for creating the extruded 3D “SPEED” letters in this tutorial: Any questions just shout in the comments. ============================================================= ► Download the free project file: ► Download other free project files from my gumroad: ============================================================= The Video Shop Long Play: Full workflow videos for the kinetic type animation featured in this tutorial: ► After Effects Animation Workflow Part 1: ► After Effects Animation Workflow Part 1: ► After Effects Animation Workflow Part 1: ============================================================= Chapters: 00:00:00 - Intro 00:00:41 - Setting up a Grid 00:01:37 - Expression Control Stroke Width 00:03:26 - Inspiration and Evolution 00:05:05 - Colour Palette 00:06:10 - SPEED letters 00:07:28 - UP letters 00:10:13 - YOUR letters 00:12:43 - Eyedraw 00:13:14 - Motion Sketch / Smoother 00:14:40 - Rove Across Time Keyframes 00:15:03 - Guiding the Eye 00:15:40 - Adding Animation “Accents” 00:16:53 - Faux-3D Wacom Pen ============================================================= ► Subscribe for more tutorials like this: ============================================================= ► If you have any questions just let me know in the comments. ► Find me: #aftereffects #aftereffectsworkflow #adobeaftereffects #kinetictype #kinetictypography #aftereffectsfaux3d #animation #learnaftereffects #motiondesign #learnmotiondesign #ideasmotiondesign #creativeprocess #creativeprocessmograph
