Lauren Purnell, creator of the blog “Culinary Canvas,” plays with her food. As a way to reduce waste, she transforms pits, peels, rinds and skins of various scraps into artwork -- immortalizing leftovers that would have eventually been thrown away. She wants to inspire others to have fun with their food -- but most of all -- she wants her work to stand as a reminder to be more mindful with waste.
