Full title reads: “Kensington. ’Helping them to feel they are not cast off’ - Duke of York opens extension of Church Army Work Aid Homes and Hostel for unemployed.“ Kensington, London. Prince Albert, the Duke of York (later King George VI) is shown the work being done by unemployed men as part of the Church Army’s programme to help them. The men are using saws to cut planks of wood. C/U men using saws. The Prince moves on - with him is the Mayor and a man in Salvation Army (or Church Army) uniform. The Prince watches more men working with wood, then he and the Mayor try their hand at using a large two man saw to cut a log. C/U of the Prince using the saw (not very well).
