The Duke of Edinburgh’s Historic Connections with Greece

’The Duke of Edinburgh’s Historic Connections with Greece’ Prince Philip was born on the Greek Island of Corfu in 1921. Though his family was exiled when he was an infant, the Duke of Edinburgh maintained many links with Greece. Many of his ancestors, including his grandfather, King George I of Greece, and father Prince Andrew, are buried at the family cemetery on the former royal estate just north of Athens. Meanwhile, the villa that housed Prince Philip’s mother, Princess Alice, is now an elderly care home in the Greek capital run by the Red Cross. #PrincePhilip #DukeOfEdinburgh #Greece
