This song was written by Noddy Holder and Jim Lea. This track was produced by Chas Chandler, and was released in 1973. According to Wikipedia, this single went to No. 1 in their native UK and in Ireland, and reached No. 3 in the Netherlands and Belgium, No. 4 in Germany, No. 19 in Finland, No. 28 in France, and No. 58 in Australia, and has charted again many times since, including every year since 2006. The song’s Wikipedia page claims it was never released as a single in the United States, but the Discogs website has a page for its release there which includes pictures of it.
