I loved such intriguing events, so I readily agreed. This was my first mountain hike, which I was embarking on for a full two weeks. Our group of fellow tourists, like me, consisted of 18 people. There were only 5 women and 13 men in the group. Before setting out on the hike, we underwent a small one-day training session and received important knowledge and skills for survival in harsh terrain. Our hiking route was not easy and mostly ran along a winding mountain trail along the Naverna River. On some stretches, the route passed through dense forests. In total, we had to cover about 70 miles of difficult terrain in just two weeks. Our route started from the Doregni railway station and ended in the small alpine village of Fruggen.
