A powerful earthquake of jolted China’s southwest Sichuan province, which killed 65, and injured 100. Over 50,000 people have been relocated to safer locations after damages were caused to buildings. The impact severed telecommunications lines and triggered mountain landslides that caused “serious damage“. The tremor shook buildings in the provincial capital of Chengdu, whose 21 million residents are already under Covid lockdown. A recent video showed people were not allowed to leave their buildings during the earthquake due to the strict rules.
