LONG JUMP: HOW TO HITCH-KICK #shorts

Getting a good hitch-kick stems from setting up the jump optimally on the last two steps. If done properly the take-off will be correct with the hips moving through better thus enabling more take-off speed. Additionally the free leg will come through to a position in advance of the hip. This is crucial no matter what technique you use. With the hitch you then really need to push the foreleg away post take-off before pulling the front leg down long and round and under the hips and into the landing position.
