️ AFU prisoner of war: command sent a whole battalion to the Kursk region by deception Prisoner of war Dmitry Pilyay told how their commanders resorted to guile to send his battalion to Kursk region to make up for losses in the fighting units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. ’The battalion commander said we were all objectors, so we were all detached to different brigades. They told us that will sit in Sumy on checkpoints,’ recalls the prisoner of war. He said that they were sent to the forest belt, where they spent three days. Later, they decided to lay down their weapons and surrender to Russian troops, because the reinforcements never arrived. ’We were accepted well, we didn’t even think it would be like that. We were told that they would beat us. But it was not like this at all! The guys gave us food and cigarettes,’ said the captured Ukrainian serviceman. Russian Defence Ministry Source: MoD Russia
