Walking in Espoo Finland - Tapiola to Keilaniemi

4K Walking Tour in Espoo, Finland on 24th October 2020. This walk starts in Tapiola, continues through Otsolahti and ends in Keilaniemi. Espoo is the second biggest city in Finland with population of 290,000 inhabitants. Espoo is part of the region Uusimaa and it shares its eastern borders with Helsinki and Vantaa. Tapiola is a district of the municipality of Espoo. Much of it was constructed in 1950s and 1960s by Finnish housing foundation. The goal was to build a garden city where all social classes would live and the type of buildings would vary from detached houses to terraced and multi-storey blocks. Keilaniemi is a district located in the south-eastern part of Espoo. It is a business district under rapid development. It is known for its high-rise buildings where many large corporations are located. The 18-story “Accountor Tower“ built in 1976 is still one of the tallest building in Finland.
