Metallica. Seven years after the release of “Hardwired...“, the legendary band released their eleventh record. The name of the album — “72 Seasons“ — carries a symbolic meaning. 72 seasons are your first 18 years, when you absorb what you will go through the rest of your life with. The album is dominated by themes of growing up, love and heredity, and the latter should be understood rather as the acceptance of those inner demons that haunted the adults around the child. Like “Hardwired...“, the album was recorded on their own label Blackened Records. The cover again emphasizes the theme chosen by the group. The burnt crib of a child is depicted on a yellow, eye-catching background. Scattered around are a guitar, headphones, dumbbells, a baseball bat — in short, everything that symbolizes children’s and teenage hobbies...
