Two years ago I decided to travel there and celebrate the New Year with the meteorologists. The journey took two days: I first flew from Moscow to Gorno-Altaysk, the capital of the Altai republic, took a bus to Ust-Koksa, and then hitchhiked to the village of Kucherla, where the road ends. I contacted one of the meteorologists who needed to head up to the station from the village, where his family lives. We bought some groceries, cigarettes and prepared for the trip.
