The weather, the temperament of the birds, the timing, all of it came together. Such a moment I would have considered to be likely impossible a few years ago. All relationships in nature are an exchange. Just as a man must procure status, income and be eagerly gregarious within culture and social posturing to qualify for dating and marriage, so must a man offer bird seed in order to fellowship with the birds. It also requires immense patience (up to 3 hours of standing still day after day to initially attract some species) and the most gentle of carefully controlled movements.
