Sewing a Historically Accurate Hocus Pocus Cosplay- Finished!

The final part of our adventure into making a historically accurate 1690s ensemble for Winifred Sanderson! How would the Sanderson sisters actually dressed at the end of the 17th century? Let’s layer up with all of our garments from the last two weeks and find out! Our third video covers the embroidering of an iconic stomacher, styling wigs, and finishing a few accessories! All leading up to a night of running amok, scaring our neighbors, and attempting sit ups in stays. First, let’s look at goldwork embroidery. Then we’ll dive into some unexpected history of silk hoods (and their witchy background). A few dozen bobby pins and some digging around in my closet later will bring us to a frantic evening of lacing up stays (we remembered to put on our shoes first), pinning on gowns, and futile attempts at keeping our wigs on properly.
