As we examine the parable of the workers in the vineyard we see one of the problems with human nature that we are faced with right today. We see a story of a landowner that agreed with his workers for the amount that they would receive from a day’s work it was an oral Covenant in other words the workers agreed to work for a certain amount and the owner of the land agreed to pay the workers a certain amount. However the landowner also had some other workers that came in later in the day that established a slightly different Covenant with the landowner. When it was time for payment to be given to the workers those who were hired last who would only worked a portion of the time that the first workers had worked buy they received the same as the first workers.
