The De Rosa brand stands for fine Italian racing bikes. Udo de Rosa, the founder of the De Rosa brand, began producing racing bikes in 1953 and started making frames for professionals in 1958. The most famous De Rosa rider was Eddy Merckx, who learned the craft of frame building from Udo De Rosa even after the end of his active career and later started his own company in Belgium with his support. Eddy Merckx is still a close friend of the family today. The De Rosa Merak is the lightest racing bike in the traditional brand’s product range. The bike combines beautiful design with all the latest technical standards. We were able to build this dream bike in our workshop using components from the Italian (Milan) based company FSA (crankset, bottom bracket) and Vision (wheelset, cockpit). Enjoy the video. Udo de Rosa der Gründer der Marke De Rosa begann 1953 mit der Produktion von Rennrädern, 1958 startete er für die Profis Rahmen zu fertigen. Der bekannteste Fahrer auf De Rosa war Eddy Merckx, der auch nach dem Ende seiner aktiven Karriere das Handwerk des Rahmenbaus von Udo De Rosa erlernte und später mit seiner Unterstützung seine eigene Firma in Belgien startete. Noch heute ist Eddy Merckx ein enger Freund der Familie. Das De Rosa Merak ist das leichteste Rennrad in der Produktrange der traditionsreichen Marke. Das Rad verbindet wunderschönes Design mit allen aktuellen technischen Standards. Wir konnten dieses Traumbike in unserer Werkstatt mit den Komponenten der ebenso in Italien ansässigen Firma FSA (Kurbel, Innenlager) und Vision (Wheelset, Cockpit) aufbauen.
